The Real Stories... Story
Real Stories all began in mid 2005 when Radio Karate teamed up with Roving Enterprises to start the initial stages of writing and developing what was to eventually become Real Stories.
But it probably started even earlier than that. In 2003 the four boys from Radio Karate – Hamish Blake, Andy Lee, Ryan Shelton and Tim Bartley – produced a series on Melbourne community TV station, Channel 31 called... Radio Karate. That series included short mocumentary style sketches very similar to the ones seen now on Real Stories.
Then in early 2005, Hamish, Andy, Ryan and Tim won the Melbourne Comedy Festival Short Film competition with another short mocumentary called The Greystone 2800.
The wise people at Roving Enterprises saw the short film, and organised a meeting to talk about the possibility of teaming up. There was a meeting, all the Radio Karate boys ordered expensive steaks, and the rest, as most people say... is history.
Hamish and Andy have a radio show. It's on the radio and takes the form of a show. Find out more about Hamish & Andy and their radio show.
